Marie Knapp is an award-winning educator passionate about teaching and healing, while inspiring and supporting people who seek clarity and purpose in their lives and work. Marie provided the poetry for Lance Secretan’s Spirit @ Work Cards and Book set. Marie helps individuals and groups realize their life goals as they integrate spirit and values into their life and the work they do. In various senior positions at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, she brought courageous leadership and productive innovation to a wide range of programs in research, instruction, and community development. She also has served on the nursing faculty of several nursing schools.
Throughout her career, Marie has modeled a commitment to lifelong learning and the importance of reflection, caring and nurturing.
With her daughter, Marie coauthored Two Souls Linked, and Two Souls Speak, books of poetry in which they each wrote poems addressing the same set of themes. Marie also publishes a newsletter 3 times a year. It's Your Life: Live it well is distributed to 1500 people through local agency Wellness Programs and local health care professionals and retailers. Marie holds a doctorate in education and is a Registered Nurse.
Marie is known for her Calling—her passion and skill to lead and to serve others through writing, facilitation, advising, teaching, and speaking. She inspires people as a catalyst for life renewal and reinvention. Marie is people-centered and emphasizes realignment, rebalancing, recharging and revitalization as a process for renewal and reinvention from the heart. She has a true ability to listen deeply and intuitively, then synthesizing to reflect back the bigger, often metaphorical picture that inspires new perspectives and change in those she serves.
