The Secretan Faculty

Marie Knapp
Owen Sound,
ON Canada

Marie Knapp is an award-winning educator passionate about healing, teaching and for inspiring and supporting people who seek clarity and purpose in their lives and work. Marie provided the poetry for Lance Secretan’s Spirit @ Work Card and Book set. As a member of The Secretan Center Faculty, Marie helps individuals and groups realize their strategic goals and to integrate spirit and values into their organization. In various senior positions at Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology, she brought courageous leadership and productive innovation to a wide range of programs in research, instruction, and community development. She also has served on the nursing faculty of several nursing schools.

Throughout her career, Marie has modeled a commitment to lifelong learning and the importance of reflection, caring and nurturing. Marie is a Certified Secretan Associate specialized in Values-centered Leadership® and Inspirational Leadership® work. With her daughter, she coauthored Two Souls Linked, a book of poetry in which the women each wrote poems addressing the same set of themes. Marie holds a doctorate in education and is a Registered Nurse

Marie is known for her Calling --- her passion and skill to lead and to serve others through writing, facilitation, coaching, teaching, and speaking. She inspires people and organizations, focusing on the values they hold and integrate in their life and work and on how they serve those they lead. Health and Education hold a large place in her heart for those organizations hold the strength of the future generations in their hands and hearts.

Marie is people-centered and emphasizes the alignment of self with work. She has a true ability to listen deeply. She helps leaders and teams be authentic and inspiring as they work towards being the best they can be. She helps leaders and teams focus on connecting with people they serve and meeting the needs of those they lead and their customers.
