Jim Jenkins (Frederick, Maryland) Whether he’s working with entire companies, organizational teams or individuals, Jim’s goal is for clients to refocus and experience new ways of seeing, thinking and doing.  He inspires clients not only to live up to their own full potential, but also to collaborate with others with the utmost mutual respect, effectiveness and productivity.

“I’m so happy to have the chance to fulfill my destiny to help others achieve their greatness,” says Jenkins.  “There’s nothing better than watching for that magical moment when people realize their true greatness and begin to make radical changes in the world!”  And in order to make these changes happen, Jim uses a lot of creativity, inspiration and unique approaches that address the complete person.  “You have to treat every client, every soul on the planet as if they are truly alive.  And I am thankful that I get to spend a lot of time teaching people how to do this through my coaching, writing, speaking and training programs.”

Jim constantly applies innovative approaches to solving business problems. For example, while at AT&T, he mentored a team of sales representatives in developing their sales and communication skills so they could pass the company assessment for promotion to management positions. His coaching and constant use of role-plays and self-assessments resulted in the successful transition of 80% of the team to management-level sales positions in two years.

Jim's experiences in the HR and diversity arena landed him a multi-year assignment as one the sole outside consultant for managing Booz Allen and Hamilton's Board Diversity Initiative, a program that is revolutionalizing the firm's approach to creating a more inclusive and respectful workplace. His project management, coaching and organization development skills helped generate significant changes to support Booz Allen Hamilton's goal of becoming an employer of choice in management consulting.

An openly gay entrepreneur, Jim's unique approach to his own career was featured in the 1993 book Out in the Workplace, which dealt with coming out issues in a corporate setting. He has also authored more than a dozen corporate training manuals as well as articles for magazines and online publications. In April 2006, he was the featured in the Management Tools section of HR Magazine.  He is a frequent talk-radio show guest and ran his own Internet talk show on the Voice America Radio channel in 2005.

In addition to earning his Master of Arts degree in Organizational Development from Marymount University in Arlington, Va., Jim has studied with Dr. Stephen Gilligan, Ph.D., Marcia Yudkin, Steven Van Yoder, James Arthur Ray, David Whyte and Lance Secretan.

In 2002, Jim received his Professional Coach Certification (PCC) from New Ventures West, one of the country's premier coaching schools. He’s now a member of the organization’s certification committee and often mentors new coaches as they're learning to harness their skills and develop their own brand of coaching.

When he’s not supporting clients, Jim enjoys theatre, music and film as well as performing improvisational comedy, appearing often at the DC Improv.  Jim is also a featured participant in the newly released DVD of The Artist's Way at Work.
